Some weddings feel like a dream. Others feel like a story passed down for generations—the kind you can almost hear in the rustle of the trees or the hush of a breeze over the water. The Jullies Wedding was both.

From the moment Emma and James toured Montebrier Estate, they knew it was the one. “It just had a soul,” Emma later told us. “It felt like stepping back into something sacred—something meant for celebration.”

Held on a golden afternoon in early May, their day unfolded with the quiet charm and effortless elegance that the estate is known for. Guests arrived by winding country roads, greeted first by the sweeping façade of the 1866 estate home. With towering oaks and the sun glinting off Mahan Creek, it was a setting that seemed plucked from the pages of a Southern novel.

The ceremony took place on the Wellhouse Lawn, just below the grand steps of the estate. A hand-tied arch of garden roses and eucalyptus framed the old stone well, which stood as a symbol of enduring love. James waited there with quiet reverence, while Emma made her way down the grass aisle to the gentle strumming of a live acoustic guitar. Her dress—lace with heirloom detailing—floated like a whisper as she walked.

Their vows, written personally, struck a balance between humor and heartache, joy and journey. There wasn’t a dry eye on the lawn. Even the wind seemed to still for a moment as they said “I do.”

After the ceremony, guests were invited to stroll through Blossoms Retreat, the estate’s garden courtyard, where champagne and Southern hors d’oeuvres were passed under flowering dogwoods and flickering lanterns. Conversations lingered under the canopy of trees as golden hour lit the garden in honeyed light.

Dinner and dancing followed beneath a clear-topped tent set on the Garden Terrace, the estate’s secluded courtyard just off the main patio. Draped in string lights and lined with magnolia garlands, the space felt both refined and relaxed—just like the couple themselves. Long farm tables held flickering candles, vintage silver, and centerpieces bursting with peonies, ranunculus, and wild greenery gathered from the surrounding grounds.

Emma and James shared their first dance beneath the stars to an old Otis Redding tune, swaying together as the laughter of friends echoed through the trees. Later, James surprised Emma with a song he had secretly recorded, played during the father-daughter dance. She didn’t stop smiling for the rest of the night.

As the evening came to a close, guests gathered lakeside for a sparkler send-off. The private shoreline glowed in the moonlight, the water mirroring the night sky. The couple paused for one last kiss before heading off in a vintage Ford truck—restored by James and his father, a quiet nod to legacy and craftsmanship.

The Jullies Wedding was more than a beautiful event—it was a tapestry of meaningful moments woven into the fabric of a place made for gatherings. At Montebrier Estate, history met heart, and the result was a day no one would soon forget.
