On a beautiful March morning, Montebrier Estate officially welcomed the community back through its gates with a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the reopening of the historic property as a wedding venue in Bibb County, Alabama.

The event marked an important milestone for the historic home, which has served many roles over the generations—from a lively social gathering place in the late 1800s to a beloved private residence for local families. Today, Montebrier begins a new chapter as an intimate wedding venue where couples can gather with friends and family to celebrate life’s most meaningful moments.

A Historic Home Returns to Community Celebration

Montebrier’s story is deeply connected to the surrounding community.

In the late 19th century, the property was known as the Montebrier Club, where couples would arrive by train to dance and socialize. Over time the home transitioned into a private residence, where the Mahan family hosted large gatherings and community events for friends, neighbors, and family members.

With the opening of Montebrier Estate as a wedding venue, the property returns once again to a tradition of hospitality—bringing people together to celebrate important transitions in life.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by members of the local community, representatives from the Montevallo & Bibb County Chambers of Commerce, and guests curious to see the historic home restored to active use.

The reopening of Montebrier Estate also received regional attention when the property was featured by WBRC following the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Reporter Jeh Jeh Pruitt visited the property to film a segment highlighting the home’s history and its new role as a wedding venue.

Shortly after the broadcast, WBRC published an article about the story of Montebrier’s restoration and reopening.

The feature highlights the property’s long history and the vision for bringing the estate back to life as a gathering place for couples and families.

A New Chapter for Montebrier Estate

While the ribbon cutting celebrated a new beginning, the heart of Montebrier remains the same: a place where people come together to celebrate.

Today the estate offers multiple indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces surrounded by mature trees, historic architecture, and quiet countryside just a short drive from Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and Montgomery.

Couples looking for an intimate micro wedding venue or historic wedding setting in central Alabama can now once again celebrate at Montebrier.

The ribbon cutting marks only the beginning of this next chapter, and we look forward to welcoming many couples, families, and guests to the property in the years ahead.
